We`re looking for a Youth Program Specialist in Lexington!
This position is full-time, 36 hours per week and includes benefits of Virginia Retirement System (VRS), eligible for Health Savings Account (HSA) and paid time off (PTO). Starting Hourly Rate: $22.44 – $24.57 per hour. Schedule may vary, but will include a combination of day, evening and/or weekend hours.
What does the job look like?
The Youth Services Specialist (YPS) plans and conducts programs for youth ages 0-17, which includes story time for ages 0-5 and after-school programs for children and teens. The YPS reports to the Youth Services System Manager and coordinates with branch managers to plan programs system-wide. This position also includes shifts on the service desk.
Requirements:
A successful candidate will… • Have a Bachelor’s degree • Have experience working with children of all ages and families • Have a familiarity with young adult and children’s literature • Have a knowledge of early literacy skills • Have a mastery of Canva design software and strong computer skills • Have the ability to plan and organize programs in advance • Have a desire to keep up with what interests children and teens • Have a sense of playfulness, and the ability to enjoy children of all ages
