Nick Charles

G.R. “Nick” Charles is a graduate of Washington and Lee University. He has resided in Lexington since 2002 after retiring from retail cooperative management. Previously, he was engaged in the sales and marketing management of mining equipment and industrial steel products worldwide while living in Lebanon, Spain, Greece, Belgium, and Singapore. Nick is an avid reader and developed a lifelong appreciation for libraries, while growing up in Baltimore visiting the Enoch Pratt Free Library, as a history major at Washington and Lee, and with the infrequency of available public libraries in many of the countries in which he worked and traveled.

Nick was pleased to be appointed to the Rockbridge Regional Library Board in 2012. He has also served on The Lime Kiln Theater Board, and currently serves on the Habitat for Humanity Board. He was recently appointed as Lexington’s representative on the Regional Industrial Development Authority.
